Data Analyst I
Position Purpose
Residing within the Innovation Solutions Group, this role entails analyzing data from various internal and external sources and providing workflow assistance to meet the data requirements of both internal teams and external clients.
Essential Functions
Data Transformation
- Review and analyze data gathered from ground surveys, reports, aerial photographs, and satellite images.
- Determine, scale, and orient geodetic points, elevations, and other planimetric or topographic features using established mathematical methods.
- Develop and manage a range of geospatial data formats.
QA/QC internal and external data
- Perform quality assessments on finalized compositions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Document and upkeep detailed metadata for all geospatial datasets and mapping procedures to maintain consistent data quality and process transparency.
- Continuously monitor and assimilate the latest developments and updates within the Autodesk and FME suite to enhance data integration capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver and manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Minimum Requirements:
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Drafting / Design, GIS, or a related field, or at least two years of relevant Autodesk Suite and or FME Suite experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Coordinate Reference Systems, with the capability to georeferenced data, perform coordinate transformations, and rectify cartographic inconsistencies.
- Proficiency in managing and transforming data.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to execute projects efficiently and autonomously.
- Familiarity with general surveying concepts and Trimble TBC; prior experience is beneficial.
Work Environment
The associate works in an office and outside, potentially exposed to a variety of environmental conditions.
Hours of Work and Travel
This is a full-time, nonexempt position, requiring 40+ hours per week. Nights and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates and clients could be required.
