As a General Superintendent at Laurita Inc., you will oversee multiple crews and projects, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable completion of our heavy civil construction, excavation, and underground utility work. This role requires expert knowledge of heavy civil projects, outstanding leadership, and the ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines. - Oversee day-to-day field operations and manage up to 25 team members across multiple job sites.
- Ensure strict adherence to PPE and company safety policies, promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Monitor project schedules, timelines, and quality to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure communication flows seamlessly.
- Provide on-site leadership to maintain productivity, resolve issues quickly, and achieve project goals.
- Proactively train, mentor, and develop field crews to ensure high-quality workmanship and professional growth.
- Coordinate and manage heavy equipment usage and Trimble GPS systems for accurate grading and excavation.
- Utilize HCSS HeavyJob and HeavySafety software for project tracking, safety compliance, and reporting.
- Manage labor, materials, and equipment to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Identify project challenges, propose solutions, and communicate with leadership to meet objectives.
- 10+ years of experience managing multiple crews in large heavy civil construction projects.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple jobs simultaneously and deliver results under strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide crews to achieve high-quality results.
- Experience operating and managing heavy equipment and utilizing Trimble GPS systems for layout and grading.
- Familiarity with HCSS HeavyJob and HeavySafety for project and safety documentation.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and training.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, schedules, and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to legally work in the United States.
- Recent work history with 5+ years of verifiable experience managing projects in excavation, underground utilities, and heavy highway work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor tasks (bending, twisting, and turning) as needed.
