SUMMARY:
Vier North the General Manager plays a vital role in delivering exceptional food & beverage experiences to guests while also running an efficient, profitable establishment. The General Manager must observe and enforce all company policies, house rules and guiding principles; be able to work and communicate well with others; receive and provide direction to staff; maintain a positive attitude toward the work and company. The General Manager must also maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observe the company dress code, and support the company culture, values, goals and mission. The ideal candidate will work closely with the CEO and Director of Operations.
Physical demands:
Most of the work is performed by standing or walking. The work requires using hands for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling. The work at times requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy weighted items. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. The work requires activities involving exposure to alcohol, unruly customers, and a general bar environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in bar management.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 50 pounds.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
- Must be able to follow printed recipes and plate specifications.
- Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with the city of Milwaukee Health Department standards for Bar Service Employees.
- Must have valid bartenders license or be willing to obtain. Fingerprinting is a mandatory requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- scheduling, training, development, and oversight of all staff.
- Sets the expectation for FOH/BOH crew members in maximizing productivity, maintaining cleanliness, organization and food quality while providing accurate speedy service.
- Makes certain all operational duties and tasks are completed timely.
- Demonstrate full leadership skills while working and setting the example to all other subordinate employees.
- Acts as the liaison between corporate members and all employees.

- observing and enforcing company standard operating procedures.
- addressing bar staff concerns and stressful situations with urgency, dignity & tact.
- ensuring that all bar staff are courteous to customers.
- ensuring all safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
- Excellent knowledge of Linga POS
- Manage selected business aspects of the bar including ordering supplies, assisting in managing budgeted payroll, and setting goals.
- Monitor weekly/monthly/quarterly inventory.
- Order and restock bar inventory.
- Hiring with support from Human Resources and training staff to provide excellent service to patrons.
- Creating effective schedules that meet the business demands of the bar.
- Resolving conflicts and ensuring the bar is staffed during peak hours.
- Planning and participating in promotional events.
- Maintains current knowledge of all popular alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes.
- Thorough knowledge of wines, beverages along with local area information
- Diffusing tense or challenging situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues.
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for bar guests.
- Communicate with vendors to assure the appropriate number of products are on hand for the forecasted demand.
- Assure all transactions are conducted with no variance.
- Work shifts are required to meet the needs of the bar. This may include weekends and holidays.
- Engage and encourage staff creativity.
- Ensure that any menu changes or specials are communicated to guests, bar staff, and servers.
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client and maintain a safe environment by
- identifying problem clients and having them removed if needed.
- Develop an efficient work pace that always keeps the customers at the bar satisfied.
- Ensure the freshest ingredients and garnishes are used.
- Make recommendations and answer all related inquiries.
- Ensure all staff is recording drink orders accurately into register system.
- Ensure that alcohol pours, mixing and garnish cocktails according to recipes as generated by the Bar Manager
- Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion.
- Attempt to limit problems related to customer's excessive drinking by following established laws.
- Arrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays.
- Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas.
- Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards and policies.
- Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
