About the Job
The General Manager leads the functional business team leaders and teams including Sales Operations, Estimating, Engineering, Construction Operations and Business Operations. The GM has overall responsibility for construction accounting accuracy and reporting, bid review approvals, vendor and subcontractor payment approvals, payment application approvals, lien releases, contract review and execution, and hiring and termination approvals.
Essential Functions:
Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Supports the successful management, leadership, and vision of the operation and personnel
Risk mitigation through review, understanding, and negotiation of construction contracts
Ensures the organization has adequate resources to perform all necessary work
- Prepares annual budget and manages operations to that budget
Ensure all Team Members adhere to HOLT Group and HOLT Renewables written Policies and Procedures
Fosters improvement and growth through completed job Post-Mortems and documentation of Best Practices
Prepares monthly sales, revenue, and backlog forecast
Attends weekly Construction in Process (CIP) meetings/calls to ensure awareness of projects and any issues needing strategic attention
Manages strategic growth of the business and sets and manages to vision and long-term goals
Maintains consistent, accurate and timely coordination of information/paperwork flow to ensure that departments operate efficiently
Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) industry
Knowledge of Construction Accounting GAAP, economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Knowledge of Public RFP compliance concepts
Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Word, Excel, PPT, and the use of computer applications such as Bluebeam
Proficiency in Salesforce, Helioscope, and Energy Toolbase
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
Ability to coordinate cross functions of a construction team through effective communication and oversight
Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Science, Contract Law, or Business Administration required
8 to 10 years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directs and manages within assigned area of responsibility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
Up to 20% travel
Valid driver’s license

This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets,
