General Ledger Accountant - OnPoint Medical Group

The Senior Staff Accountant will have an impactful role as a member of this dynamic accounting/finance group. This position will be part of a busy, fast-paced work environment that demands keen analytical skills and attention to detail. The successful Accountant must also have the desire to make a positive difference and continuously look to improve efficiencies while welcoming opportunities to learn and grow within the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly close process, including preparation and posting of standard journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate records for accruals, prepaid, and fixed asset ledgers.
• Assist with transitioning and integrating accounting processes for newly acquired practices.
• Oversee all banking transactions and cash balances including daily/weekly entries of banking activity to the general ledger.
• Aid in process improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively across all company departments while communicating effectively, completing tasks assigned within the timeframe provided, and being flexible to assist with other tasks or duties assigned.
• Provide concise analysis of month-over-month variances in the P&L.
• Manage inventory reconciliations with the practice locations for vaccines & IUDs, and other medical supplies as needed.
• Review and Approve accounts payable batches and work with staff or other departments on disputed items.
• Back up to staff on accounts payable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Hands-on focus on the details with the ability to problem-solve
• Working knowledge of accounting systems, experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic, high degree of integrity, and a positive attitude
• 1 to 2 years of public accounting experience

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some additional hours to meet deadlines or complete significant projects.

Job Supervisory Responsibilities:

This is not a management position and has no authority over other employees. However, oversight of processes and training of other staff is expected in this position.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Annual Salary: $65,000 to $85,000
