RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive incoming telephone calls and visitors and determine the nature of business
- Refer calls to the appropriate staff member tactfully
- Assist with receipt and distribution of incoming mail for the agency
- Create, tab, and organize paper files, indexes, and other documents as needed
- Perform data entry and typing consistently on a personal computer
- Use a variety of office equipment (e.g., personal computers, fax machines, copiers, mail equipment, and scanners)
- Communicate with court reporters and external customers to schedule telephone, in-person, and video hearings
- Initiate inquiries regarding case processing
- Answer appeal inquiries on behalf of the Administrative Judge (AJ)
- Respond to the public, appellants, and their representatives regarding potential, pending, and past appeals
- Provide information about general Board procedures
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Skilled in office equipment operation preferred (e.g., fax machine, copiers, computers, scanners, etc.)
- Skilled in data entry, mail management, and office support preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
BACKGROUND
- At least Two (2) years of experience in administrative roles required
- Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in the legal/adjudicatory field required
- Experience as a legal office assistant or similar roles preferred
- Detail-oriented and organized

- Bachelor’s degree preferred
