Job Summary and Qualifications

The GME Secretary is responsible for providing Administrative support to the GME Department. 

What you will do in this role: 

• You will  screen and receive all visitors, answer telephone for all incoming calls, prioritizing and following up as appropriate. 
• You will maintain manager’s calendar, organize workflow, and support manager so that work can be completed in an efficient manner. 
• Open, sort, review and organize mail for manager. Prepare responses to routine inquires as appropriate.
• Perform a wide variety of typing assignments including letters, memorandums, purchase orders, check requests, documentation, and other types of work related correspondence. Develop memos and letters as appropriate utilizing an understanding of departmental issues and activities.
• Establish, maintain, and revise record keeping and filing systems at all times recognizing the critical need for confidentiality and awareness of sensitive materials.
• Perform department specific duties which may include acting as dept timekeeper, operating specific computer software, ordering supplies, providing clerical support for assigned committees, updating policy and procedure manuals, maintaining statistical records and other department specific projects and responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate/GED required, College degree preferred.
• Prior Administrative experience required. 
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
