Full Charge Bookkeeper at Sparks Group

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a long standing, family owned business to identify a full charge bookkeeper to join the industry leading team. Well qualified candidates will have over 5 years comprehensive bookkeeping experience with a self sufficient personality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process and record payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow reports.- Handle sales tax and other tax-related filings.- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and assist with audits.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to management.
- Coordinate with external accountants for annual tax filings and audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
