Position Overview:
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial records and reports, oversee accounts payable/receivable, and maintain the general ledger. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while developing your skills in accounting and bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
- Handle invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to support budget and financial planning.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts as needed.
- Assist in preparing documents for audits and liaising with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for easy retrieval.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or in pursuit of CPA certification.
- Experience working in a small-to-medium-sized business environment.
- Experience with payroll processing software.
- Familiarity with tax filings and compliance.
