We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.
This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.
Principal Fuel System Engineer
Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop fuel systems on manned and optionally manned aircraft. You'll work with customer and hardware requirements to create a system architecture, analysis, and simulations to inform system and component specifications.
This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with the customer, other IPTs, and subcontractors. You'll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.
What you'll be doing as a Principal Fuel System Engineer:
* Identify and document component & system requirements, create specifications and statements of work, and coordinate system interfaces.
* Conduct flow and pressure analysis to optimize design solutions for the fuel systems and integrate these designs into the aircraft.
* Work closely with other teams to complete design trade studies to optimize the key system performance parameters.
* Manage component supplier activities to include design, documentation, and qualification.
* Support manufacturing with the creation of functional test procedures, installation documentation, and on-site support of technicians.
* Support aircraft flight test activities with troubleshooting, data reduction, and creation of test reports.
Qualifications

* ! Skills You Bring To this Role:
* Previous experience with 3-D modeling packages (Bell uses CATIA).
* Solid understanding of the relationship between requirements, design solutions, and successful qualification.
* Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
* Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.
What you need to be successful:
* Minimum 10 years of previous experience aircraft fuel system architecture, analysis and testing.
* Bachelor's degree with a Major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
