Are you passionate about creating nutritious and delicious meals for seniors? Our nursing home is seeking an experienced and dedicated Food Service Director to lead our culinary team and ensure the highest quality of meals for our residents.
As the Food Service Director, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring that the dietary needs of our residents are met while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene. Your leadership will have a direct impact on the well-being and satisfaction of our residents.
Food Service Director Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and oversee the preparation of meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
- Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and dietary guidelines.
- Develop and manage food budgets, inventory, and ordering supplies to maintain cost control and minimize waste.
- Monitor food service operations to ensure consistent food quality and portion control.
- Review and implement special diets as prescribed by physicians and dietitians.
- Coordinate with other departments to address residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including dietary charts, menus, and staff schedules.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Food Service Director Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary guidelines, and food safety regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for providing quality meals and making a difference in the lives of residents.
- Food Manager Certification and/or other relevant certifications required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management or related field preferred.
