Privately owned Company is seeking an experienced Food Scientist to join their team! In this role, you will be provide scientific and technical knowledge
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from concept through commercialization.
- Develop, modify, and cost-optimize seasonings and food products according to project requirements.
- Address technical challenges related to flavor development, food applications, and delivery systems.
- Duplicate existing market products, seasonings, and flavors.
- Conduct basic product analyses such as salt, moisture, pH, and granulation tests.
- Keep detailed and organized records, formulas, and data for each project.
- Perform sensory evaluations of project work.
- Participate actively in R&D and cross-functional business team meetings.
- Apply advanced knowledge of customer products and processes to projects and team discussions.
- Write and interpret reports, research records, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate and present information, products, and ideas effectively to stakeholders.
- Provide scientific and analytical expertise to internal and external customers.
- Develop and contribute to intellectual property.
- Evaluate new ingredients for sourcing, costing, qualifications, and specifications.
- Guide Jr. Scientists, technologists, technicians, and operations staff.
- Stay updated on new food trends, technology, and processes, and make recommendations.
- B.S. in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related Applied Sciences
- 5-8 years’ experience developing and formulating food related products and ingredients.
- 1+ years' experience in meat science and commercialization in processing plants.
- High degree of proactive thinking, great organizational skills, strong communication, and presentation skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft-based applications.
- Ability to quantitatively write and review technical procedures and regulations.
- Must be able to accurately taste and smell flavor profiles and food products.
- Must be able to mix and compound seasoning blends and flour bases.
- Great communication skills, will be interacting with clients
