Summary: This Job Food & Beverage Manager will The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the food and beverage dining operations at both the Clubhouse and Beach Club facilities, operating in a leadership role. Working closely with the Clubhouse manager, this position leads by example to set, maintain, and push the dining standards of the Club.
The Food and Beverage Manager is a year-round position that is involved in all food and beverage initiatives and assists in recruiting, hiring, and retention strategy. The Food and Beverage Manager collaborates with the food and beverage supervisors in all restaurants, bars, and at events, and acts as Dining Room Manager. This role is highly visible in all dining spaces.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day activities of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring efficient and smooth service delivery.
- Collaborate on Menu Planning: Work closely with chefs to design and update menus, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and cost factors.
- Manage Budgets and Financial Performance: Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and implement strategies to control costs and maximize profitability.
- Supervise and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and oversee food and beverage staff, including chefs, waitstaff, and bartenders, ensuring they adhere to service standards.
- Ensure High Levels of Customer Satisfaction: Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain Health and Safety Standards: Ensure all food and beverage operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Control Inventory and Coordinate with Suppliers: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
- Organize Promotional Events and Marketing Activities: Plan and execute promotional events, special offers, and marketing campaigns to attract customers and boost sales.
- Monitor Quality of Food and Beverage Services: Regularly assess the quality of food and beverage products and services, making improvements as necessary to maintain high standards.
- Assist in Event Catering Management: Coordinate catering services for events such as weddings, conferences, and other special occasions, ensuring seamless service.
- Implement Cost-Control Measures: Develop and implement strategies to control costs, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Address Customer Inquiries and Resolve Complaints: Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively, ensuring issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
- Develop and Maintain Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring the best terms.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal laws.
- Drive Continuous Improvement in Service Delivery: Identify areas for improvement in service delivery and implement changes to enhance the overall customer experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:The Food & Beverage Manager has supervisory responsibility for the Department Title Department, including approximately (XX) direct reports, including (XX) subordinate supervisors (if applicable).
Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate- Ability to use/navigate the Internet and email, computers, word processing, manipulate data in databases, graphics and multimedia, and spreadsheets.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Food Safety Certification
- Full drivers license to operate a vehicle or golf cart
- WSET or Court of Master Sommelier entry level degree preferred
