Basic Duties
- Work closely with supervisor in daily organization and handling of samples, as well as data registration.
- Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
- Keep the work area neat and organized, display good customer communication skills
- Utilize, DBS and Caterpillar SOS Service Manager (computer programs) to register fluid samples.
- Answer phone calls that get transferred to the oil lab
- May use Excel spreadsheets to document/record notes when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Technical school graduate or a minimum of three years heavy equipment/agriculture/truck repair experience is preferred.
- Must be an organized self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess 10 key board skills and a strong commitment to detail is required.
- Computer literate and proficient with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required. Knowledge of DBS preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to identify the differences between oil, coolant, and fuel samples.
- Ability to write professional business communication when sending emails, letters, notes, and documenting is required
- Excellent customer service skills are needed.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle will be performed on final candidate)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position works in a Fluid Analysis lab and office environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. This position handles oil samples, must be able to tolerate the smell of oil, coolant, and fuel. Some walking and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
