The Financial Reporting Manager will lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Manager:
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute accurate financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of financial disclosures and reports for the Board of Trustees, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including audits and IRS filings (e.g., Form 990).
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies aligned with the institution’s mission and goals.
- Provide insightful analysis of financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Manage and improve financial reporting systems, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection and reporting processes.
- Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, facilitating successful annual audits and addressing audit findings.
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the institution’s financial resources.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial reporting, with a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles.
- 3 years of public accounting experience
- Experience with fund accounting, donor-restricted funds, and nonprofit compliance standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A commitment to the mission and values of a faith-based educational institution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including board members, donors, and staff.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
