.UConn-AAUP is looking for a meticulous Financial Manager to join our team. This role requires knowledge of accounting and financial principles with the responsibility for various financial tasks ensuring accuracy, compliancy, and efficiency. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Manage all day-to-day financial operations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, revenue, and banking.
- Maintain and update financial records and databases with accuracy.
- Prepare the annual budget, planning and tracking process.
- Prepare and file various State & Federal reports including taxes, SEEC and other compliance activities.
- Contribute to financial audits by providing necessary information and documentation.
- Maintain an accurate filing & record keeping system for all financial documents and policies.
- Human Resources duties include employee enrollment in benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, retirement account, etc.
- Research and manage vendors for office equipment, building, grounds, and repairs.
Requirements/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager/Assistant.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- High proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Excellent touch typing, organizational and numerical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
