The Financial Analyst will work with a portfolio of departments to provide monthly grant and variance analysis and reporting. This includes ensuring all data is gathered to meet our grant reporting requirements.
The Financial Analyst will maximize the use of public and general funding according to the organization goals, state, federal and city contract systems in addition to budgeting, accounting, and analysis. This will include managing the post award grant process (i.e reporting, invoicing and grant management), monthly monitoring to track spending for both grant and non-grant funding. analyzing department expenses and programs to ensure grant dollars are used appropriately and departments are within budget.
This role will have an emphasis on managing public grant opportunities in conjunction with program directors from pre-award to post-award activities (i.e., grant narratives, grant submission, and grant management) with a focus on reporting and analysis. They will track grant spending and ensure grant dollars are used appropriately. The Financial Analyst will work with different departments to ensure information is gathered, as needed, for grant compliance reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly grant reporting for various cost centers.
- Finalize grant revenues for month-end reporting.
- Prepare monthly revenue and expense analysis reports to review with Directors.
- Maintain relationships with external grant managers and program officers of funding bodies ensuring Trilogy’s compliance with grant requirements.
- Coordinate the implementation of grant awards and ensure post-award compliance.
- Compile financial (in conjunction with FP&A Director and CFO) and non-financial data fr the preparation of internal reports, compliance reports and grant billings.
- Manages submissions of new/renewal grant applications to city, state and federal governmental organizations on behalf of Trilogy Behavior Healthcare.
- Aid with occasional private entity grant opportunities and provide ad-hoc support, on requests.
- Work with Trilogy departments to create budgets and forecasts for both gran and non-grant related cost centers.
- Participate in, develop, and make recommendations for individual direct service department budgets and revision as needed.
- Manage grants ensuring the terms of the contract are met, funds are not overspent and appropriate expenses are placed on the funds in a timely manner.
- Provide an overview of Grant Utilization for the Executive Team to advise on Grants performing well, and highlight those grants requiring attention, corrective action or possible budget revision to draw down and maximize use of available funds.
- Heavy involvement in the annual Cost Center & Agency Budget preparation. Especially as relates to current and/or proposed grant programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in grants management, reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge and ability to write proposals and prepare related grant applications. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in institutional fundraising, knowledge of budgeting, grant tracking and reporting procedures.
- Ability to analyze and compile reports and correspondence; comprehend and make inferences from written material; interpret federal, state and local government laws and regulations regarding grant contracts and administration; review the work products of others to ensure conformance to standards; communicate orally and in writing with customers, clients, or the public. Work effectively with a variety of staff, with various governmental representatives and other private or corporate funding sources.
