SUMMARY
The Final Assembly Technician performs final assembly and test functions on our Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS’s). The role of Final Assembly Technician is a highly technical, hands-on role assembling aircraft, support equipment, and ground station communications. Your finished product is our highly engineered complete unmanned aerial vehicles and systems made up of electronics, composites, sensors, and communication devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Assembles UAV/UAS aircraft structures and subassemblies such as bulkheads, fuselage panels, rudders, flaps, and stabilizers
- Prepares parts for assembly by filing, burring, crimping, framing, drilling, and reaming. Refers to technical drawings, prints, diagrams and written directions
- Mechanical Assembly of Group 2 UAV’s and UAS’s
- Operating precision measuring equipment
- Communicating challenges with leadership
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation and production environment
- Provide recommendations for improvement to management and engineering
- Inspect drone aircraft or drone aircraft components, for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear and tear to ensure airworthiness
- Recommend and perform replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection of returned aircraft
- Report issues, malfunctions, unusual wear, or damage to appropriate personnel, as required
- Inspect completed work to certify that work adheres to standards and procedures, and that the aircraft are ready for operation
- Work is to be performed in a manufacturing complex, standing for 8 hours (2 hour resting break periods)
- Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· 3+ years of assembly of small complex mechanical and electrical systems using hand tools in a production environment.
· 3+ years of assembling from Engineering and assembly documentation and executing verbal/written instructions with consistency and accuracy
· High School Diploma/GED
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering assembly drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and bills of materials.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced performance driven environment where quality is critical
· Able to work cooperatively in a team.
