Job Title: Product Support Engineer - Analytical Instrumentation

Position Overview:
We're seeking a Product Support Engineer to join our team in a key customer-facing role. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional post-sale instrumentation support worldwide. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, results-oriented, an effective communicator, and collaborative, with a strong technical background to help our customers maintain peak instrument performance and maximize productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide top-tier technical support via phone, email, remote tools, and on-site visits
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics for complex analytical instruments
- Deliver comprehensive product training to customers and internal staff
- Document support activities using Salesforce/SAP
- Install, configure, and validate new instruments at customer sites
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted technical advisor
- Contribute to technical documentation development
- Manage spare parts and consumables inventory
- Perform in-house part repairs and refurbishments when possible
Environmental Requirements:
- Up to 50% domestic travel
- Ability to work in various settings: government sites, cleanrooms, production floors, and laboratories
- Valid driver's license required
Qualifications:
- Understanding of analytical scientific instrumentation principles (x-ray equipment/diffraction experience a plus)
- Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting for analytical instruments
- Familiarity with GMP regulatory requirements (preferred)
- Knowledge of motorized drives, vacuum systems, fluid pumps, optics, electrical circuits, and computer networking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple support requests
- Experience with Salesforce and remote diagnostic tools
- Skill in reading technical documentation, including diagrams and schematics
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
- Aptitude for collaboration and teamwork
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2- or 4-year degree in engineering, physics, electronics, or related field
- 5+ years of technical experience with demonstrated leadership and skill progression
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $67,000 to $84,000, based on qualifications and experience. Full-time employees may be eligible for:
