Field Service Technician - Kinsley Group

Kinsley Energy Systems, a full-service onsite energy solutions provider, is seeking a Field Service Technician. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of cogeneration and battery backup storage. The ideal candidate will be a professional with experience in internal combustion engine and/or generator service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on cogeneration and battery storage systems at customer sites.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on system performance and reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory.
• Provide training and support to customers on system operations and maintenance best practices.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cogeneration and battery storage technology.
• Maintain inventories of parts and consumables to ensure minimal equipment downtime
• Safely operate and maintain a company-owned commercial vehicle
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to 24-hour emergency calls for repairs and service
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in cogeneration systems, battery storage, or related fields are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, preferably in cogeneration or battery storage systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours as needed including nights, weekends and on call hours as required
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (as required by local jurisdiction) Certification or the ability to attain one
• Possess and maintain a current, valid state driver's license with a current DOT medical card as required for towing
• Ability to work in a productive manner in all types of weather and environments (rural and urban)
