Field Service Technician II - Nordson Corporation

About the Job
Provides post-sales services for customers including installation, configuration, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves malfunctions. Determines when products should be upgraded or replaced to meet customer needs. Provide customers assistance with the operation and maintenance of company products. Develop on-going relationship with customers to secure future business. May provide on-site training to customers on the features of the equipment they purchase.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide on-site technical support directly to the customer
Coordinate troubleshooting of equipment with proper Nordson internal support if needed.
Interface with Top accounts assign in your geographical region weekly, monthly, or yearly to further strengthen the technical knowledge at the desired facility. (no PO or Overtime needed)
This can be accomplished with either scheduling onsite visits or by phone/email.
All onsite visits need to be prescheduled using Nordson C4C/Outlook.
All phone or email conversations need to be logged under your customers account number in C4C.
Interface with Strategic Account Manager on training classes for customers.
Interface with Strategic Account Manager on installed base data collection customers.
Interface with SAM on parts inventory data collection for customers.
Interface with Inside Sales Specialist when needed to perform onsite service for assigned account.
All service tickets need to be properly assigned/completed through a customer visit in C4C.
Identify new technologies for equipment as required based upon application, customer, and recommend best solutions for customer operations.
Prepare and submit all administrative and technical reports as requested to Regional Manager.
Support all field-testing activities within regional customer base.
Keep RSM abreast of potential new markets or applications, competitive activities, and need for new or redesigned products.
Follow documented policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain Nordson company car to assigned standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate degree in technical discipline or equivalent.
3 or more years or field service experience.

* Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills.
* Electronic knowledge and ability to utilize common instrumentation, tools and equipment (i.e. VOM volt/ohm/multimeter)
* Advanced hydraulic systems knowledge and skills
* Ability to read installation, dimension and troubleshooting drawings plus hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Ability to use a computer to maintain records, including Excel spreadsheets to prepare correspondence, and for communication purposes.
Working Conditions
Working conditions will vary based on the location and nature of the customer. Working conditions are those typical to light and heavy industrial settings and will include moderate to high noise levels and temperature extremes.
Physical Demands
While performing assigned duties, the Account Manager is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk, climb steps, cross roller conveyors, and reach with hands and arms while wearing personal protective apparel required for the manufacturing location as well as carry the required tools needed to complete the task. An Account Manager must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.
Travel Required
75% daily travel within assigned geographic territory with 1 to 2 overnight stays per week
Hourly range for this position is: $25.00 to $34.00.
The base salary pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills
