Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a Field Service Engineer for our industrial power generation clients, local to the Portland, OR and surrounding areas.
The incumbent (on a mostly emergency basis) would be responsible for planning, executing and leading technical field assignments including installations, modifications, testing and commissioning of high voltage substation equipment Limited travel to customer sites, primarily remaining close to the service station for technical support and reference.

Responsibilities:
- Serving from a emergency standpoint, will serve to assist customers in resolving high voltage substation troubleshooting, installation concerns, etc.
- Perform field tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, contact resistance and power factors while documenting said tests and conducting inspections to determine necessary repairs, additional resources, and equipment recommendations.
- Supervise additional contractors and electricians, while assisting in planning and coordinating team efforts.
- Compile and evaluate data, maintaining detailed records and logs while developing recommendations and preparing written reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Required.
- 5+ years of technical experience in erection, testing, installation, and commissioning of high voltage equipment.
- Proven experience serving in leadership roles within power utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, along with knowledge of testing equipment.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work within the United States.
