Pay Rate: Up to $35-40/hr
Overview:
The Engineering Technical Analyst will integrate with Operations' and construction Service teams during gas service construction associated with large gas distribution main replacement projects.
The position will directly support service construction teams in the field and assist in collecting as-installed asset information with GPS antennas leveraging corporate GIS applications to manage relevant data.
The position will report to the Contractor Oversight Liaison and coordinate with Engineering personnel assigned to large, complex distribution plastic gas main construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage GIS and GPS technologies to collect as-installed asset information on gas service projects for purposes of records development.
- Develop, maintain, and apply documentation processes associated with integrated systems including hardware, applications, protocols, detailed point lists and revision control associated with GIS and GPS technology implementation.
- Participate in meetings or demonstrations as necessary such as Operating Reviews, technology field demonstrations, pre-construction meetings.
- Travel is required to job sites and project meetings and may vary dependent upon location.
- Willing to work additional hours, as necessary, to meet deadlines.
- Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
- Technical understanding of construction, design, and record development of natural gas distribution systems and principles, including construction print reading, understanding of construction and safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to coordinate project(s) needs and priorities simultaneously.
- Communication and Organization Skills
- Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna hardware and software usage
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software understanding. ESRI ArcGIS Online and Field Maps
- Limited understanding of Surveying Control practices
- Familiarity with Natural Gas Distribution systems.
- Teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new topics
- Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, etc.)
- Associate Degree in a related technical field with a minimum of three (3) years of applicable work experience
- (OR) High School Diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of years of applicable work experience
