About the Job
Essential Functions:
- Assemble, configure, test, and document camera systems during development and production phases with minimal supervision.
- Perform software and driver installation on computer systems, along with firmware updates for hardware.
- Install and maintain photographic systems and support hardware at various rides and attractions.
- Run and terminate wires and cabling to interconnect camera system components to power, data, sensors, and control systems.
- Build and assemble equipment for specific attraction or ride needs.
- Collaborate with the team to develop innovative approaches to complex installation scenarios.
- Take ownership of projects and ensure successful execution.
- Observe and maintain hardware/software systems in use, participating in updates or replacements as needed.
- Work overnight (or early mornings) in outdoor or indoor environments within closed facilities for equipment repairs and installations.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with VOM meters to measure voltage/current readings, trace wires, and detect shorts or opens.
- Basic understanding of electronic principles, including Ohm’s Law, to calculate wire sizing, power sourcing, and loading.
- Knowledge of DC and AC circuit tracing and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, crimpers, and RJ45 termination tools.
- Mechanical knowledge and skills to install equipment safely and properly in elevated or hidden areas.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), RJ45 terminations, wire ferrule terminal blocks, M12 connectors, and sensors (optical/magnetic proximity).
- Comfortable working with industrial equipment in high locations.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel overnight (25%) nationally and internationally for installations and maintenance projects. A U.S. passport is required or must be obtainable.
- Day travel to various locations may be required.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including after business hours and weekends as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company policies.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or degree in Network Systems Administration, Electronics, or Computer Technology preferred.
- Microsoft and Cisco certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a technical installation environment required.
- Theme park or attractions technician experience preferred.
Environmental Demands:
- Work performed in various environments, including warehouses, offices, retail stores, and theme parks.
- Exposure to temperature-controlled indoor settings as well as extreme outdoor conditions (heat, cold, humidity, and noise).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work on scaffolding, and crawl into small spaces.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
Mental Requirements:
- Positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Good judgment, ability to work under stress, and teamwork skills.
- Comfort working at heights and in diverse cultural settings.
Equipment Used:
- Technical equipment, cameras, computers, hand tools, soldering irons, ladders, and safety equipment.
Special Skills:
- High confidentiality for trade secrets and programming.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
Certifications/Licensure:
- Valid Florida driver’s license and satisfactory DMV record.
- Ability to complete safety training such as Lockout/Tagout, Ladder Safety, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift Safety, and PPE usage.
