FTE: 13% (5 hrs/week)
Hiring Pay Range: $18.00 per hour
Remote: On Site

Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the University’s School of the Visual Arts. This position will support and learn about Arts Administration including design and installation for Naropa University Art Galleries. Full commitment to the job is required for the Spring semester started in January 2025. Scheduled academic breaks are honored.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• Assist the Instructor-Interim Director of Visual Arts with the administrative needs of the day-to-day arts administration, gallery showings, public readings and other scheduled events.
• Interface with faculty, guest artists, and other Naropa departments, external agencies, or community members. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Event publicity.
o Social Media postings.
o Gallery exhibition installation.
o Receptions for guest artists.
o Co-curricular events for SOTA programs.
• Assist with preparation, updating and tracking of items for accounts payable.
• Review facilities work orders as needed Review updates on documents regarding event planning and accounting.
• Create and review flyers for exhibitions and receptions.
• Assisting faculty, staff, or students with event coordination in a professional manner, as directed by supervisor.
• Researching various online projects, as determined by supervisor.
• Copying, filing and additional duties as needed.
• Assist in creating an uplifting University environment by demonstrating appreciation for department policies and workflow and regularly communicating such an attitude with fellow students.
Minimum Qualifications (inducing education and licenses):
• Student must be awarded federal work study hours by the Naropa Financial Aid Office.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
• Student must be awarded work/study hours by the Financial Aid office.
• Demonstration of leadership through initiative, accountability, and responsibility.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Good computer skills, including prior experience in Microsoft products, primarily Word and Excel.
• Excellent office skills, including expertise in computer and office equipment.
• Willingness to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and on-going self-examination.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• Commitment to co-create a diverse and inclusive community and actively participate in related
professional development regarding the dynamics of privilege and oppression and the impact these have in the workplace.
• An understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression, and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-2 years previous administrative office experience.
• Interest in gallery installation or events planning, a plus.
