Job Details
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions with exhibits, organizing discovery, and organizing and coordinating witnesses.
- Work with attorneys to prepare legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits.
- Draft Case Information Statements and prepare child support guidelines.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars including confirming and coordinating court appearances, meetings, etc.
- Assist with court filings, assembling motions, and coordinating process servers.
- Remind attorneys of deadlines for filings, appearances, meetings, etc.
- Prioritize workload in accordance with deadlines and be able to multi-task.
- Handle various administrative duties such as maintaining proper electronic files and paper files, when appropriate.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of family law experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Enjoy interacting with both clients and potential clients as well as all colleagues.
- Familiarity with CIS software, and Microsoft Office 365/Teams.
- SharePoint and/or fluency in Spanish experience is a plus.
