Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for attorney review and usage.
- Manage communication with clients, and create detailed spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision.
- Submit pleadings to court clerks and coordinate the service of subpoenas.
- Handle initial client intake calls and prepare attorneys for consultations.
- Support attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Assist in resolving recurring issues in family law cases and support client compliance with discovery requests.
- Manage discovery processes, track important deadlines, and draft correspondence to opposing counsel and parties.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Paralegal certification is beneficial but not a requirement.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Texas Family Law.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Texas Family Code and Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong focus on detail.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to adopt new software, technologies, and methodologies as necessary to adapt to the evolving legal landscape.
- Demonstrates creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic work setting.
