Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a supervising attorney to manage family law cases
- Draft a wide range of legal documents, including letters, pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation briefs, and trial briefs
- Handle discovery, including propounding and responding, drafting meet-and-confer letters, and preparing motions to compel
- Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits, and take and defend depositions
- Develop witness questions for evidentiary hearings and trials
- Conduct legal research and write detailed memorandums
- Attend and represent clients in ex parte hearings, RFO hearings, and other legal proceedings
- Maintain routine client communication
- Handle cases from inception through conclusion, with a focus on delivering high-quality results
- Accurately track billable time to meet firm requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar
- 3-5 years of family law experience handling complex cases
- Strong analytical and oral communication skills
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail are essential
- A highly motivated, team-oriented professional with a commitment to meeting deadlines
