About this Role:
The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly by leading the Facilities Technician team and ensuring that repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll oversee work order management, prioritize assignments, and actively step in to complete repairs when needed.
In this role, you’ll focus on mentoring and coaching team members while ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards. You will proactively identify gaps in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), communicate these findings to the Facilities Manager, and take the lead in updating processes to improve safety for people, food, and equipment.
Managing parts and supplies is another key area of focus. You’ll maintain the Facilities parts inventory, monitor par levels, and handle purchasing to ensure operations remain uninterrupted.
To maintain visibility on operational changes that may impact facilities work, you’ll cover PTO for team members as needed and regularly participate in both opening and closing shifts (a minimum of 3 opening shifts per month and at least 1 closing shift per week). Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as you’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support the success of the entire operation.

What You’ll Do:
- Management:
- Day-to-day management of Maintenance Team
- Ensures Maintenance Team creates and completes workorders in CMMS platform.
- Ensures Maintenance Team responds to radio calls.
- Ensures Facilities team is working cross-functionally and communicating well to other teams.
- Provides performance and staffing direction including making hiring decisions and providing expert recommendations for promotion or advancement. Enforces disciplinary actions up to and including firing with the assistance of HR.
- Repair and Maintenance
- Completes repairs and maintenance as needed, delegates work orders as appropriate to the Facilities team.
- Responds to repair radio calls and emergency calls.
- Inputs workorders and completes workorders in CMMS platform.
- Communicates to internal stakeholders about repair statuses and Facilities projects.
- Follows SOP’s and Company Policies when completing repairs.
- Shop Organization
- Works with Facilities Manager to identify and maintain optimum par levels.
- Plans for temporary storage of equipment waiting to be commissioned.
- Responsible for keeping the shop organized to GMP standards.
- Responsible for ensuring the Facilities team upkeeps the shop to GMP standards.
- Scheduling
- Ensures Facilities Team is scheduled according to plant needs.
- Covers PTO when no Facilities Technician coverage is available.
- 2 years of experience supervising people in a facility maintenance or similar environment, with a strong preference for experience in manufacturing plants.
- 2 years of facilities maintenance experience, including managing shop and tool inventory.
- Physical Demands: Must be able and willing to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing stationary ladders, and accessing mezzanines. Frequent standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs are also required.
- Work Environment: Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (~38°F) and navigating areas requiring the use of power tools, HVAC equipment, metal detectors, and other specialized machinery.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) with the ability to manage complex cross-functional projects and administrative tasks.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan and manage your time effectively while overseeing team schedules and priorities.
- Skilled in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, with the ability to:
- Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams.
- Translate machine manuals into Preventative Maintenance Programs and SOPs.
- Repair motors, electrical components, and pneumatic systems.
- Work with or quickly learn food processing equipment such as Kronen GEWA, Kronen GS10, Urschel Sprint2, GROTE 613, or comparable machines.
- Basic electrical skills, with the ability to complete routine electrical repairs.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and the ability to perform basic plumbing repairs.
- Experience with carpentry and building repairs, including walls, ceilings, floors, and other non-technical components, using best practices for construction and maintenance.
- Adaptable and flexible in response to changing business needs, with a willingness to step into hands-on work as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions under pressure.
