Position Summary:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Facilities and Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of plant infrastructure, low-carbon programs, capital asset management, and plant/production maintenance to enable safe production operations and habitability of Safran Aerospace Composites and their co-located partner Albany Engineered Composites.
Systems requiring oversight include but are not limited to: building structure, chilled water, heating hot water, compressed air, bulk nitrogen, fire protection (wet/dry sprinkler, AFFF, gaseous), fire alarm, ISO 8/Class 100 000 clean room, IT infrastructure/server rooms, industrial freezer, security camera/access control, water purification, wastewater and solid waste disposal and site maintenance.
Oversees, coordinates, and designs the installation, relocation, and obsolescence of capital assets including production equipment and in-plant buildings. Maintains and updates plant record drawings. Ensures plant machinery and processes meet compliance regulations. Provide advice, guidance, and corrective actions to all other departments regarding optimizing production processes and equipment.
This position directly manages the site Maintenance Team, and is responsible for maintaining all aspects of maintenance for production equipment.
Core Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Overtime required to support plant operations and respond to emergencies at any time.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- *Ensure factory reliability, security, performance, habitability, and integrity through preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Directly Manage site Maintenance Team, providing guidance on repairs, preventative maintenance strategies, and spare parts management.
- Manage the budget for site facilities and maintenance expenses; ~ $5M annually.
- *Lead Safran's low-carbon initiative on-site by developing, organizing, funding, and installing low carbon projects to ensure corporate GHG goals are met
- *Coordinate, direct, and control the safety and quality of contractor trades for multiple, concurrent infrastructure projects, equipment installations, and production machine rearrangements.
- *Curate a portfolio of contracted trade suppliers to achieve lowest cost through a collaborative, long-term approach to contractor management.
- Manage electricity and natural gas purchase agreements to achieve lowest cost and emissions
- *Triage and respond as required to building system alarms and breakdowns and repair as necessary on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to communicate status on facilities and maintenance topics.
- Operate and maintain the building's badge-access and video surveillance systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan new equipment installations and existing equipment rearrangements.
- Lead development activities for a variety of layout modifications to assure they meet operational, safety, ergonomic, and engineering requirements, using a team-based, holistic approach.
- Take field measurements to validate equipment geometry and ensure equipment fitment in the designated space.
- *Maintain complete library of building record-set drawings and manuals to reflect current plant state as layout changes are made
- Provide support to other Safran manufacturing sites globally as required
- Safely perform occasional minor maintenance as needed

Job Specifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering required at minimum
- Minimum 15 years' plant engineering experience in factory/manufacturing operations required
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing a team
- Lean/Six-Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
- Operational knowledge of Delta Controls SCADA system, or equivalent, required
- OSHA 10 hour certification required, OSHA 40 hour preferred
- Proficient with MS Office
- Proficient with AutoCAD or equivalent required, familiarity with AutoCAD Plant-3D, or equivalent preferred
- Ability to prioritize work with general guidance
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with coworkers, contractors, and municipal officials
- Work requires basic understanding of organization and department policies and practices in order to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Work requires: walking or standing over 50% of the time; use of hands to finger, handle and feel; talk and hear
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, approximately 20% of a standard work day
- Travel - occasional
Working Conditions
- Lighting and temperature are adequate.
- Eye protection must be worn in manufacturing areas, approximately 50% of a standard work day.
- Work is performed in a factory environment. Employee will be exposed to any number of elements (inside and outside), but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
