About the Job
Overview: We are seeking a skilled Data Center Facilities Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our base building and data center operations, ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. This role involves remote and smart hands support, monitoring daily issues or requests, and collaborating with vendors on critical infrastructure maintenance and issues.
Key Responsibilities:
->Remote and Smart Hands Support:
Provide remote and on-site hands-on work within the data center.
Perform data center and building facility rounds and inspections.
Perform contractor and vendor management.
->Monitoring and Issue Resolution:
Monitor tickets and boards for daily issues or requests.
Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical and building issues reported by users.
Maintain detailed logs of activities and resolutions.
->Critical Infrastructure Knowledge:
Possess working knowledge of critical infrastructure components, including power, cooling, and network systems.
Facilitate and participate in routine maintenance and issue resolution with vendors.
Ensure compliance with data center standards and procedures.
Working knowledge of MOP/SOP documentation and creation of needed documentation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a data center or similar technical environment.
Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and operations.
Working knowledge of general building maintenance and inspections including repairs.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Certified Data Center Professional CDCP, Certified Data Center Facilities Operations Specialist CDFOS, BOMI Facilities Management Certification FMC) are a plus.
