Salary/Hourly Rate:
$95k – $100k plus Bonus
Position Overview:
The FSQA Manager will support the Quality structure by researching and developing new and existing menu items, products, processes, and operational procedures. The primary goal of the FSQA Manager is to ensure compliance with food safety regulations while optimizing ease of execution. The FSQA Manager needs 5+ years working directly with USDA production facilities or with the production of salad dressings or kimchi. They should be very passionate about food safety and will be HACCP certified. This role is 5 days/week onsite.
Responsibilities of the FSQA Manager:
- Lead the supplier approval program across co-manufacturing and co-packaging facilities, ensuring adherence to QA/QC policies and standards.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to facilitate product roll-outs, compliance checks, sourcing, production runs, facility safety, training, and materials management.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate projects while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements related to menu development.
- Define safety compliance benchmarks for new and existing products using laboratory resources (e.g., shelf life testing, microbial analysis, storage guidelines).
- Resolve technical safety issues and address feedback from complaints or product performance reviews.
- Partner with QA/QC teams to design strategies that mitigate risks and enhance product safety.
- Provide accurate and relevant data analysis to plant and corporate management.
- Develop and implement food safety processes to ensure continuous monitoring and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a key leader on project teams, addressing food safety concerns and driving continuous improvement through technology and scientific research.
- Maintain open communication with corporate QA, plant management, sales, and marketing teams regarding food safety concerns or requirements.
- Manage cross-functional responsibilities with QA Managers, assisting supervisors in decision-making when required.
Qualifications for the FSQA Manager:
- 5 – 7 years of experience in HACCP, QA, or food safety supervision, ideally within poultry or food processing.
- Experience in further processing facilities is highly preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Food Safety Manager or HACCP certification (required or obtainable).
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with a sense of urgency.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- In-depth knowledge of HACCP, USDA, FDA, and SOP standards.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
