Job Overview:The Financial Analyst will assist with the development and implementation of business solutions to improve the effectiveness of the accounting department. He/she will evaluate processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion of all corporate and customer deliverables (payroll, billing, accounts payable, customer requests, balance statements, and similar items). The Financial Analyst will review internal accounting statements, identify needed corrections, and ensure all corrections are made in a timely manner. The incumbent will monitor process improvement efforts by gathering information, documenting processes, and providing cost benefit analysis. The incumbent shall ensure the proper tracking and maintenance of accurate contract cost and budget records for all contract CLINs and related modifications. The Financial Analyst will use sophisticated methods, metrics and tools to achieve business benefits and goals and recommend solutions in areas such as finance, production, workflow, customer relationship and overall operations.
Salary Range: $92,000 - $102,000

Responsibilities:Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Financial:
- Conduct in depth audits of all business-related accounting data. Thereafter, work with all required parties to make corrections and process improvements.
- Support the proper reconciliation, review, and timely correction of project general ledger accounts.
- Ensure the proper review and approval of all supporting schedules associated with journal entries.
- Provide support and analysis to project management and Government for all billings, disbursements and labor generated by this project.
- Assist with the proper and timely completion of all contract invoices, corporate required analyses, and contract business transactions.
- Develop and prepare Financial Reports on the status of the Project (i.e. Labor Cost Report and Project Cost Analysis).
- Assist with all accounting audits and corrective actions.
- Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes.
- Assist with new business opportunities providing input and cost analysis.
- Evaluate irregularities in financial tracking to determine gap and identify correct solution.
- Work with department management to validate resource requirements and associated costs.
- Reconcile funding monthly with associated stakeholders to include developing projections.
- Assist project management to develop and manage project budgets, forecasting, and expenditures.
Process Improvement:
- Develop, enhance and generate new processes and procedures by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts/diagrams, understanding capabilities and writing specifications. Provide coaching and guidance on.
- Monitor project progress and key performance indicators by tracking activity; resolving problems; generating reports; and recommending actions.
- Analyze business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas of improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
- Streamline and improve internal and external reporting.
Communication:
- Prepare and develop reports by collecting, analyzing, interpreting and summarizing information and trends. Communicate report findings.
- Work constructively and collaboratively with project management, department managers, corporate personnel and customer personnel.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Monitor deliverables and ensure compliance and expectations are met.
- Always maintain the utmost confidentiality.
- Schedule and attend meetings, generate agendas, take minutes and distribute updates.
- Conduct extensive research to collect data and offer guidance on new initiatives.
- Develop and work within advanced and complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Understand contract and project requirements and remain current on changes.
- Execute all activities to align with the organization’s core behaviors and contract goals.
- Performs other associated duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, i.e. accounting, finance, program management, project management, organizational development, etc.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in an analyst role involving financial and operational analysis.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in government contract accounting environment.
- A minimum of three (3) year's supporting and communicating effectively with senior level management.
- Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
- Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
