Charlotte County Airport Authority (CCAA) is currently accepting applications for the full-time, non-exempt position of FBO Quality Control Technician at Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) for refueling, marshaling, towing, mooring aircraft, and other duties.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FBO QUALITY CONTROL (QC) TECHNICIAN - FULL TIME

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the oversight of fuel quality control in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations. Performs inspections and basic maintenance to ensure that all fuel related equipment meets the ATA 103, NFPA 407, fuel provider and NAA company rules as it pertains to fuel quality control. This includes fuel characteristics, filtration, sampling and testing, maintenance, and inspection programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Control Duties:
- Conducts quality control audits
- Assists with QC audits and record keeping as assigned.
- Reviews refueling safety policies and procedures.
- Performs compliance and government required checks on fuel farm and tanker trucks to ensure they are in good operable conditions in order to prevent spills, releases, overfills and product contamination.
- Maintains daily record keeping as assigned, electronic or manual
- Assists in the preventative maintenance (daily checks), cleanliness and proper storage of all aircraft and FBO ground support equipment. Equipment shall be maintained to exceed industry standards and shall strive for 100% readiness.
- Performs the daily maintenance and cleaning of mobile fueling equipment.
- Performs the daily fuel quality testing and record results.
- Performs airport security duties.
- Ensures PGD can provide its customers with an adequate supply of clean and dry fuel while adhering to the highest standards of safety and service in the delivery and storage of fuel, and promptly informs leadership of all fuel quality control issues.
- Support the Fuel Supply and QC Supervisor with maintenance of records and to ensure compliance with ATA 103, all FAA advisory circulars regarding fuel quality control, NFPA 407 and otherapplicable regulations.
- Daily, monthly and annual inspections will be conducted on fuel trucks, and fuel farm facilities to ensure all fuel related equipment meets the standards set forth by ATA 103, NFPA 407, Fuel Provider, FAA, and PGD's SOP's.
- Perform daily and monthly fuel truck & GSE safety Ensure vehicles are in safe operating order and running properly. Immediately report any concerns to your supervisor.
- Performs afternoon shift responsibilities (1400 - 2000 or similar) to include receiving fuel loads, conducting quality control inspections and performing monthly fuel audits.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferably in an outside environment is preferred. Must obtain certification from an aviation fuel quality control and refueling safety course within 6 months of starting position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Able to problem solve independently or seek assistance
- Knowledge of general and commercial aviation operations and procedures
- Skilled with aviation and ground base radio systems or similar equipment
- Able to provide excellent customer service
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status
- Able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends and holidays
- Capable of working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat
- Able to lift 50 pounds, push, climb and walk for the majority of the workday
- Exposed to and handles hazardous materials
Shift work including overnights, weekends, evenings, and holidays required.
Starting at $15.75 hr.
