GENERAL FUNCTION
EyeMed’s Reporting and Analytics team is responsible for creating and maintaining a wide range of internal and external facing reports, leading analytics projects that help the organization make informed decisions, ensuring governance and integrity of data and system resources, and driving continuous improvement through process automation and strategic initiatives.
The internship program will expose students to the company’s complex and dynamic data ecosystem. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with project management, support continuous improvement initiatives, and manage standard data governance, reporting and analytics tasks, all while gaining valuable and relevant experience with a range of technologies, methodologies and concepts.
* There is potential for a full-time job opportunity following successful completion of the internship program and college graduation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with knowledge management initiatives by understanding, documenting, and maintaining data definitions, reporting/project requirements, and performance standards.
- Executes existing processes, as scheduled and as needed, ensuring that quality controls are monitored and met.
- Provides support for troubleshooting and follow-up questions, including identification of root causes, sizing of impact, and recommendation/assessment of options.
- Partners with team members to identify, prioritize and evaluate opportunities for new projects or capabilities, and continuous improvement of existing projects or capabilities.
- Provides support for routine and priority tasks and projects as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Seeking a degree in an analytical field, such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Business or Health Informatics, or similar field of study.
- Available for the full 10-week program, 40 hours per week.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required on the first day of employment.
- Strong balance of business, analytics and technology acumen.
- Superior communication, critical thinking, teamwork and project management skills.
- High level of accountability, motivation, learning agility and attention to detail.
- Experience with sourcing, cleansing, integrating and analyzing data.
- Experience with data-oriented applications (e.g., querying, workflow, reporting, analysis, machine learning and visualization).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous internship or work experience in similar functions/business units.
- Leadership roles on campus and/or community involvement.
- Participation in group projects that require teamwork and contribution to shared goals.
- Interdisciplinary coursework that emphasizes critical thinking and communication.
