The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on role responsible for maintenance and emergency services at Campus Town in Ewing, NJ. This position covers both residential student housing and a multi-building commercial facility with ground-floor retail establishments. The technician will work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the safety and upkeep of the facility, creating a conducive environment for employees, students, and visitors. Additionally, this role includes backing up the Facilities Manager and participating in an on-call rotation.
Essential Duties
- Maintenance & Repairs: Handle maintenance and repairs for student housing (private apartments), commercial buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds.
- Systems Management: Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, drywall, painting, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and expenditures.
- Support: Assist Leasing Staff with maintenance requests from students and respond to emergency inquiries.
- Team Collaboration: Work with the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Staff to foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Safety: Follow safety procedures, emergency protocols, and evacuation plans, and conduct inspections to address potential hazards or risks.
- Backup & On-Call: Provide backup to the Facilities Manager and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Resource Management: Assist in overseeing maintenance activities and resources, monitor expenses, and collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for facility-related services (janitorial, security, landscaping, and maintenance).
- Communication: Effectively communicate with Management, Leasing Staff, College Representatives, and Corporate Staff.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial and residential maintenance.
- Experience in Student Housing is a plus.
