You will be at the cutting edge of our initiatives and directly accountable for decisions shaping our client and advisor experiences. This role involves hands-on design and team management. You will work in collaboration with a diverse team comprising other researchers, product designers, content writers, product managers, engineers, and business partners who share your enthusiasm for delivering distinctive and innovative financial digital products and services, including trading and advice platforms.We are actively seeking an energetic and innovative Experience Design Vice President to join our group. J.P. Morgan is transforming future of private banking by incorporating strong Product and Design discipline along with emerging technologies into the products and services we create. Our team, which sits within Asset & Wealth Management, serves J.P Morgan Private Bank clients, as well as their advisors. We develop and refine the tools that are essential for helping our clients grow, maintain and make their money work smarter so they can reach their financial goals. The products we design must add value and strengthen the relationship between our clients and their advisors, while adding minimal complexity to their already busy lives. To do our job well, we utilize user-centered techniques to help us break through the industry jargon and bureaucracy and find insights that others can’t. We elevate UX not just to solve users’ problems but also to use design to steer the product’s evolution into a powerful and extensible framework.Job ResponsibilitiesLeverage your deep understanding of research and experience design for digital products.Be at the forefront of our efforts and be directly responsible for decisions that form our client and advisor experiences.Perform in a hands-on design and team management role.Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team that includes other researchers, product designers, content writers, product managers, engineers, and business partners who share your passion for delivering unique and innovative financial digital products and services of all kinds, including trading and advice platforms.Required Qualifications, skills and capabilities:6 years of design experience within the industry with experience managing teams and can guide performance and development of other designers with easeBe experienced working within design systems & enterprise/consumer/complicated user journey experience Direct hands on design experience within Figma, and experience with leading Usability Testing, including script writing, etc.Experience communicating with stakeholders as well as Development & Product teamsDistill complicated problems defined through research into simple and elegant solutions and can accurately make decisions that guide the product direction with little informationYou have an understanding of what makes a quality experience. You can think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, mock them up in detail, and work with engineers to build themAbility to influence others and provide thought leadership on design based on research findings, while also being a self-starter who actively seeks ways to uncover user needs and know how to transform them into experiences Able to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs; with an understanding of the technical limitations and liberties behind your decisions and have enough chops to communicate your ideas to our engineersYou actively listen, hear and understand what is said and not said, with nuanced comprehension of meaning and intentYou have an online portfolio demonstrating superior experiences (required for application - Please note we cannot access file sharing tools e.g. DropBox)Flexible to work outside normal business hours to accommodate communications with international colleaguesPreferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:You excel in creating and sharing product designs based on research findings and understand the necessity to put the user first.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical work experience in Research or DesignBe actively involved in defining product strategy and can define a research strategy to support itHave experience with and enjoy managing and growing designers with strong team collaboration and great communication skillsYou think in terms of systems and make rational design decisionsYou are constantly pushing your limits and searching for opportunities to become betterYou’re passionate about user research and you place the customer’s needs above your own preferencesJ.P.
