YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
If you like crunching numbers and making sure that everything is in its' place, then this job is for you. You will be responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the Finance and Accounting Staff, ensuring that a highly productive and well-trained staff is always maintained. The Executive Director of Finance ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting and accounting functions while providing information and assistance to the Chief Financial Officer and executive team. You will also be required to communicate, coordinate, resolve money issues and work well with other teammates, departments, managers, and guests. Most of all, we want you to have FUN since you play a huge role in creating that memorable guest experience for your teammates, customers (external and internal), vendors, etc.!
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
This role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to:
* Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
* Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the business
* Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working
* Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel and casino operations
* Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
* Lead, direct, and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting functions, focusing on A/P, A/R, Inventory Control, Compliance, Planning & Analysis, General Ledger, Income Audit, etc.
* Maximize productivity, identify problem areas and assist in finding and implementing solutions
* Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds
* Monitor revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines. Investigate and critique variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management
* Monitor the capital planning process by assisting management with the calculation of return on capital improvements, gathering support and monitoring the bid process, and ensuring proper upkeep of the property by evaluating scope of work and specifications
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes. Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items
* Continually work on a defined development plan to prepare for expanded responsibilities within the organization
* Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining financial objectives
* Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, are properly reconciled on a timely basis
* Ensure that income audit and critical operational procedures are accomplished on a daily basis to include credit card reconciliation and transmission, daily deposits, cash over/short reporting, bank audits, allowances, paid outs, etc.
* Establish and continually audit all internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, assets, payroll, and Team Member records
* Implementation and completion of all accounting key competencies, both management and hourly
* Hire, train, supervise and develop staff, including coaching, counseling and discipline
* Ensure the proper utilization, maintenance, and periodic upgrades of all EDP equipment
* Direct or prepare all financial reports in accordance with requirements meeting various due dates and deadlines
* Conduct and/or attend and contribute to periodic meetings to maintain favorable working relationship among Team Members and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency (Sales & Service, Credit, etc.)
* Monitor compliance in meeting required report deadlines and due dates, and react accordingly
* Monitor the accurate production of the daily operating report
* Attend meetings/training as required by management
* Perform other duties as requested by management

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
* A minimum of 7 - 11 years of related progressive experience in hotel and casino accounting or related field; a 4-year college degree and a minimum of 7 years of progressive related experience
* Hospitality and casino related financial management & accounting experience preferred
* There will be days where long hours are required
* Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
* Accounting (Aptech), POS (Agilisys), PMS (LMS), HRIS & Payroll (ADP)
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
* Sedentary work, exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
* Sitting for long periods of time. Long visual exposure to computer screen(s). Working both independently and interdependently depending on work tasks, projects, special initiatives. Possibly experience job related stress due to tight deadlines, demands, crisis management
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
* You may come into contact with pet dander or hair
