Executive Director, Manufacturing Operations - LCI-Lawinger Consulting

Job Summary:
The Executive Director, Manufacturing Operations will lead the manufacturing of a low/medium volume platform, overseeing the value stream from assembly to Certificate of completion. This role requires collaboration with Sales & Marketing and Engineering to support new product development and customization programs. Responsibilities include leading the manufacturing organization, driving improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery, and managing a $28 million annual budget.

Essential Functions:

• Establish and maintain operational standards for safety, quality, cost control, waste reduction, and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure cost-effective design and implementation of tools, processes, and facilities.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Tooling initiatives.
• Manage Operations team development, training, and continuous improvement.
• Set and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People.
• Provide leadership in problem resolution and process improvements.
• Oversee budget compliance and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Business, or a related field.  MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 12 years of experience, including 7 years in leadership roles.
• Strong budget management, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, process improvement, and quality systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage performance and drive team success.
