Executive Director, Global Collateral Strategy Execution
Position Overview
This position will play a critical role in enhancing the Global Collateral Management function. Design, implement, and maintain collateral management capabilities, including new reporting and analysis. Develop process enhancements and/or tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of collateral management activities/controls and provide other project support to the Global Collateral Management team. Develop and implement robust collateral management and reporting controls.. The role will promote collaboration across Structured Finance, Investments, and Treasury, as well as with our Business and other Corporate partners throughout the organization while fostering a culture and environment to achieve excellence and innovation. This role requires a thorough understanding and experience in collateral management processes, reinsurance, and/or investment principles
Responsibilities
- Direct and execute collateral projects. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of collateral-related activities.
- Develop and enhance collateral management systems and tools to support required growth in collateral use. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop, establish, and document robust collateral management controls and processes to mitigate collateral-related risks and support the enterprise-wide collateral management strategy.
- Drive prioritization and influence collaboration with groups across the organization, including change management coordination.
- Develop comprehensive reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights to the Global Collateral Management team, senior management and stakeholders.
- Build a robust knowledge of COMPANY’s portfolio and data structures in the system.
- Build a robust knowledge of existing collateral and investment-related systems and software (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Bloomberg, Python, etc.).
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Investments and Investments IT, as well as with business and corporate partners (i.e., Structured Finance, Treasury, Finance, etc.).
- Assist in the analysis and evaluation of reinsurance treaties and investment agreements to determine collateral requirements.
- Assist with and coordinate periodic reviews and assessments of collateral arrangements to identify risks and optimize efficiency
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, with emphasis in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance including 5+years’ experience in collateral management, risk management, or related field within the insurance or financial services industry
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- 15+ years’ experience in life reinsurance
- 10+ years in Finance, Accounting and/or Economics
- Experience with collateral management

- Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate international projects across multiple time-zones
- Advanced technological skills with Microsoft products
- Advanced technological skills and experience with common industry applications (i.e, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (< 20%)
Preferred:
- Collateral management knowledge (e.g., derivatives, securities lending, repo, reinsurance trust, etc.)
- Fixed income investing knowledge
- Trust and/or Treasury operations knowledge
- Strong business analysis experience
