We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is a critical role that requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in Construction Estimating, Blueprint Reading, Material Take Off (MTO), Subcontracting, and Project Bidding. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates that will drive the success of our construction projects. With your expert knowledge and understanding of construction processes, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial viability of our projects and the overall growth of our business.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing the plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
2. Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to understand the project scope.
3. Conduct a thorough risk analysis for each project.
4. Develop strategies to meet project goals, like setting work hours, sequencing tasks, procuring necessary materials, and more.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate contracts.
6. Prepare and submit competitive project bids, including preparing bid packages and soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
7. Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs, etc.) as required.
8. Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms; update as necessary.
9. Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and team members.
10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in construction estimating.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
3. Proficiency in Construction Estimating, Cost Analysis, Blueprint Reading, Material Take Off (MTO), Subcontracting, and Project Bidding.
4. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Excellent numerical skills and analytical mindset.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
7. Proficient with all MS Office products. Familiarity with estimating software is a plus.
8. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and building plans.
9. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
11. Strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
