An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. We are a leading player in the construction & telecommunications industry, known for delivering high-quality (Telecommunications, Fiber, Wet Utilities, Gas & Power) on time and within budget. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about construction, Wet Utilities, Power and has a keen eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our project planning and execution process, with responsibilities ranging from cost estimation to contract negotiation and project management.
Responsibilities:
As an Estimator, you will:
1. Use your expertise in reading blueprints and technical documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
2. Leverage your advanced Excel skills to develop detailed, accurate, and timely cost reports.
3. Utilize your knowledge of Material Take Off (MTO) to ensure accurate quantity surveys.
4. Apply your project bidding skills to participate in tendering processes, preparing and submitting competitive bids.
5. Use your experience in budgeting and cost management to monitor project costs, ensuring projects stay within budget.
6. Leverage your project management skills to oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
7. Use your contract management skills to negotiate and manage contracts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring all parties adhere to contractual terms and conditions.
8. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during project planning and execution.
9. Continually monitor industry trends and pricing to ensure our estimates remain competitive and accurate.
10. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project costs or timelines.
11. Work extensively within Bluebeam Software
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
2. A proven track record in cost management, construction estimating, budgeting, project bidding, and contract management.
3. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best prices and terms on contracts.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
5. Expertise in Material Take Off (MTO), with a keen eye for detail.
6. Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to create detailed, accurate cost reports.
7. Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
9. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
10. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar will be an added advantage.
