Escrow Assistant
Responsibilities:
Pre-Closing:
- Order payoffs and final utilities for files and verify that payoffs match title commitments.
- Handle all file requirements prior to closing, including resolving liens, judgments, and bankruptcy issues.
- Obtain past and present tax information, ensuring that current taxes have not been paid.
- Order and follow up on HOA letters, bylaws, financials, and irrigation details.
- Obtain commission information for the real estate agents involved in the transaction.
- Prepare Power of Attorneys and Quit Claim Deeds when necessary.
- Maintain communication with the Escrow Officer regarding the status of files.
- Assist with walk-ins or phone calls when the Escrow Officer is unavailable.
- Help other assistants and serve as a receptionist as needed.
Closing:
- Assist with entering figures from the lender.
- Print documents and checks for closing.
- Fax closing figures to lenders and Realtors.
Post-Closing:
- Clean out files for shipping of loan packages and recordings.
- Follow up on any money held in escrow.
- Prepare closed-out files for scanning.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as an Escrow Assistant (Required).
