Atlas is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to perform field sampling for soil, groundwater, and hazardous materials; landfill monitoring/sampling; Phase I ESA related work; drilling oversight; UST and soil excavation oversight; and documentation and report writing.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Landfill monitoring.
+ Field services including groundwater and storm water sampling.
+ Drilling oversight, soil sampling and boring log preparation.
+ Interaction with laboratories for sample pickup and laboratory analytical report deliverables.
+ Preparation and management of field supplies and equipment.
+ Field and technical oversight, including quality control and quality assurance for project activities, and standard operating procedures and reports.
+ Technical report writing and deliverables to Project Managers.
+ Some interaction with regulatory and government agencies.
+ GIS point data collection in field.
+ Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
+ Ability to travel within MA, CT, RI, ME, NH, and NY area.
+ Ability to bend and stoop to be at floor level.
+ Ability to climb a ladder and work on a roof.
+ Familiarity with iPhone and/or iPad.
+ Should be able to manage multiple assignments.
+ Effective communication skills and ability to interact with public at large.
+ Ability to work 7 am to 7 pm (variable) depending on specific project schedule.
+ Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and be able to pass MVR.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Adhere to Atlas and site-specific safety standards.
+ Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required.
+ Must have the ability to work independently and on project teams.
+ Experience with CADD a plus.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance and demeanor.
+ 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER – In-house training is available.
Minimum Requirements:
+ AS or BS in Environmental Science or Science Major.
+ 0 to 2+ years of environmental experience.
+ Previous professional job experience (not required in environmental field).
+ Valid driver’s license and flexibility of schedule.
