OVERVIEW
Tatitlek staff provide support for engineering, technical, operator and logistics services at the Surface/Aviation Interoperability Laboratory (SAIL). SAIL is a part of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) located at Patuxent River, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Independently apply complex engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test and evaluate systems on current or proposed military weapon systems. Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Directly perform engineering functions such as system integration, integration testing, and system operation. Manage resources and acts as a team leader, developing procedures and controls, managing project efforts, and taking the lead in problem resolution.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalency certification and successful completion of at least six semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
OR
- Successful completion of a post-high school/GED technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology
AND
- A minimum of six years’ experience in conducting laboratory research or laboratory analyses in the area of shipboard, aircraft and weapon systems; hardware, software; or instrumentation. Three years of those years must have involved test and evaluation involving military shipboard or aircraft systems or subsystems.
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a team leader or supervisor performing management functions.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, adaptability, customer & mission focused, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to prepare designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems to include solving design problems, formulating new design techniques, and verification of compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
- Ability to design and coordinate test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design.
- Ability to plan, approach, and conduct various experiments to develop equipment or systems while determining test procedures and designs of special test equipment.
- Must currently possess a SECRET level DoD clearance with the ability to obtain and/or maintain a TOP SECRET clearance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise or train and be assisted by lower level technicians.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
Must have a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI are required.

Salary:$52.76/hr
