#LI-DM2The Opportunity As the Engineering Manager for Water & Wastewater, you will manage execution of the engineering component of multiple traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery projects including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon neutral solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on high profile municipal projectsSupervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying developmental growth opportunitiesManage budgets, scheduling, and correspondence with clients and project management in support of a projectThe Team Black & Veatch's Governments & Environment business works to provide innovative solutions and integrated planning, design, and construction support for mission-critical facilities, as well as threat reduction and environmental services worldwide. The Engineer Manager team is a top-ranked team by ENR for Water Design Firms in Water Supply, Sewer Waste, and other water-related rankings.
They partner with clients to align people, processes, technologies, and data analytics to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset use, meet performance goals, reduce costs, and mitigate risk. You can check out one of their recent projects, the Tomahawk Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion, on YouTube.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution: Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projectsConduct research to develop equipment and material recommendationsManage data and perform complex engineering calculationsDevelop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplinesLead larger production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for a projectClient Interface: Identify key client interests and drivers for moderately complex projectsCommunicate client concerns to project team members and develop solutionsProvide support for business development or pursuit activitiesManage project changes directly with the client under Project Manager supervisionTechnical expertise:Lead large multi-discipline teams to meet project deliverablesProvide technical leadership for complex water and wastewater treatment projectsDrive solutions to achieve project goalsManagement Responsibilities:Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignmentsResponsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinatesPreferred QualificationsPE licensePrevious engineering consulting experienceExperience executing multi-discipline WWTP upgrades and expansion projectsMinimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicingMinimum of 8 years related work experienceAll applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.CertificationsMost positions – depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division – will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit* of such registration.
Additional professional registration or licensure may be needed when practicing or on assignment in a different country.
