Position Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated, very hands-on, and skilled engineering manager to join our dynamic team. This person will manage the engineering, maintenance, toolmaking, and facilities functions of the company and will spend 50% - 80% of their time in our production areas. They will support the development of the operations strategic direction and continue to strengthen our culture of continuous improvement and customer first focus.
This individual will provide on-going technical leadership support to day-to-day manufacturing operations, be responsible for the machine reliability for our production and facilities equipment, and work with our technicians troubleshooting and maintaining our equipment. This role will collaborate with our operations manager, quality manager, production equipment engineer, process engineers, and technicians to integrate new technologies, implement new automation, complete continuous improvement projects, and expand our SCADA system to enhance our process monitoring. This will allow us to continue to scale our onsite manufacturing operations to meet future business needs and our aggressive growth plans. Travel will be limited to project-related activities.

Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Manage the technical requirements of the business, including engineering support for manufacturing, facilities, equipment, and automation systems to meet the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction. Develops key reliability metrics and equipment monitoring controls/systems.
- Management: Lead and motivate a technical team, foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Works with CFO to develop and manage expense and capital budgets. Manages monthly budgets, drives cost reduction projects, and delivers EBITDA objectives for the business. Creates capital equipment requests and performs ROI analyses.
- Knowledge Sharing: Collaborates with scheduling, supervisor/lead, and process engineer/technician on machine cycle times, capacity, and capabilities and consulted on machine issues, troubleshooting, & resolution. Collaborates with process engineer on critical equipment functionality and process performance monitoring needs to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Process Improvements & System Optimization: Completes continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment reliability and throughput. Supports fixture designs and quick changeover solutions as required. Performs, documents, and qualifies hardware/software modifications to existing systems. Develops and implements robust control strategies for manufacturing processes. Establishes total predictive maintenance program for all value streams and facilities equipment.
- A minimum of 3+ years in medical device experience, and a total of 10 – 15 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the medical device and or other highly regulated industry, like aerospace and/or defense industry. 7 years in an engineering management role with responsibilities in manufacturing, maintenance, and facilities.
- Experience in complex electro-mechanical equipment applications is a must, automation application is preferrable, and PLC controls and programming is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge and application of GMPs & ISO 13485 system requirements, and knowledge of equipment qualifications tools (i.e., IQ, OQ, & PQ).
- Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations and complies with EHS policies and procedures.
- Possesses practical experience Lean and Six Sigma; certifications are a plus.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment, with minimal supervision, and effectively communicate and present to all levels of an organization.
- Able to perform technical writing, develop training, quality procedures, databases, and dashboards.
- Demonstrates good financial and business acumen, able to manage capital projects.
- Minimum Bachelor Science degree in engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.
