POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Engineering Manager oversees both the Manufacturing Engineering and Applications Engineering teams, acting as a key advisor on projects, tasks, and operations. This role is crucial for driving the global growth strategy by collaborating with the Sales team as the primary technical contact and product advocate. As our Engineering Manager, you will perform as top technical authority for opportunities and solve challenging problems, oversee product engineering operations, and ensure that proper engineering procedures are followed. You can expect to play an active role in the development and completion of projects. Some of your responsibilities also include aligning engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Leadership:
- Oversee key projects, processes, and performance metrics related to technical quotes and orders.
- Select, develop, train, and supervise staff in both Manufacturing and Applications Engineering.
- Work in coordination with Sales to strengthen relationships with customers and their engineering teams.
- Lead research and prepare reports on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
- Oversee and contribute to the design and development of equipment and systems or redesign existing equipment to fulfill customer needs.
- Ensure proposals from the team are accurate and can be completed on time and within budget by the engineering group.
- Identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams to optimize production processes and improve product quality.
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support product launches and ensure manufacturability of new designs.
- Manage technical information on new orders to provide production details, ensuring accurate and timely completion of project management functions.
- Stay up to date on new technologies, including internal development of products and their applications.
- Occasional travel to provide field (sales and technical) support to our agents and customers.
You Have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills utilized when instructing and directing employees.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good logic and reasoning skills to be able to identify weaknesses and strengths of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
- Highly organized to instruct and direct workers.
- Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
You Need:
- Prior experience estimating and writing proposals for test/measurement systems.
- 4-year Engineering degree (BSEE; BSME) or equivalent.
- Solid leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills. Must be able to convey concepts and theory to customers and inside project teams.
- Electro-mechanical Design/Project Management experience.
- A fundamental understanding of control and measurement theory, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and mechanical design concepts is essential.
- Proven experience in people management, including team development and performance evaluation.
