Responsibilities:NV5 is seeking an Engineering Aide to join our team as a field trainer. As a trainer, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding junior field staff in conducting geotechnical investigations, soil sampling, and site assessments. Your expertise will contribute to the development of our team, ensuring high-quality fieldwork and adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct on-site training sessions for junior field staff on various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including but not limited to:
- Proper soil sampling techniques
- Field testing procedures
- Site assessment methodologies
- Safety protocols and best practices
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating geotechnical equipment.
- Provide guidance on interpreting field data and observations, and assist trainees in documenting findings accurately.
- Collaborate with senior geotechnical engineers to develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, and reference guides.
- Monitor trainee performance during field activities, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and company policies during training sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of comprehensive field reports and contribute to the analysis of geotechnical data.
- Stay updated on advancements in geotechnical engineering practices and incorporate relevant training content accordingly.
- Associate's deree.
- Strong proficiency in conducting geotechnical investigations, soil sampling, and site characterization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor junior staff.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a passion for knowledge sharing and team development.
- Proficiency in using geotechnical equipment and software for data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, with a commitment to safety and quality assurance.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
