We are currently seeking a Permanent Employment Law Attorney to join our dynamic team. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned attorney who is passionate about employment law and is looking to take their career to the next level. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in litigation, with a particular focus on labor and employment issues. They should be comfortable handling a diverse caseload, including complex and high-stakes matters. The position requires extensive knowledge of the laws and regulations in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law issues, including but not limited to, employee relations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employment contracts.
2. Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including litigation and mediation.
3. Conduct thorough and detailed investigations into employment law complaints and disputes.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Stay abreast of current and emerging employment law trends, legislation, and best practices to provide proactive and strategic legal advice.
6. Collaborate with other members of the legal team and stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
7. Provide training and education to the organization on employment law matters.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law, with a strong focus on litigation.
4. Proven track record of successfully representing clients in employment law cases.
5. In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, particularly those applicable in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
6. Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
8. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion.
9. Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep tight deadlines.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
